"O Two" When Walter Merrick had HyDiamond, he and Andrew Garver partnered on a foal out of HyDiamond and Garver's Mexico Special. The foal was Garver's Two. They put him on the track for a few years and stood him at stud( at Andrew Garver's place at Reydon, Ok. until the partnership dissolved). He could run short or long and had a AAA SI of 95. A. D. Reed of Spearman, Texas said, " Garver's Two, at one time, was about the only AQHA race horse that he knew of that had run a AAA time in every race distance( 440, 400, 350, 330, 300, 250, & 220) sanctioned by the AQHA in the mid 60's". After he was retired from the race track, Mr. Garver's daughter( Andrea Beth) started to run barrels, poles, and even break-a-way roped on him at rodeos around the local country side. After Andrea married, little sister De Ann took up where big sister left off. De Ann must have been very successful at running barrels because the locals still talk about how the competition sure hated to see her pull in and unload "O Two". Most of his get were from local ranch mares, some foals were registered and others were not, some were runners some were not, some were performers and some were not, but his offspring were known to make fine ranch horses with a lot of cow sense. Heart A Tack was one of these type foals. Garver's Two died because of a tornado that went thru the Garver farm in 1980. "O Two" was put down about 6 months after the storm, he was 20 years old.
